New Balance

New Balance was founded 1906 in Boston by William J Riley. Riley wanted to help  people who had problems with their feet by producing shoes with a special insert in the sole. He got the idea from watching the chickens in his garden. He was fascinated by how they could maintain such great balance even though they only had three claws to stand on, this led him to the name New Balance. In 1941 he got the idea to produce sporting shoes, produced specifically for running.
